Getting Cheap California Car Insurance
Getting cheap California car insurance can be intimidating at first. It’s an expensive state, and
sometimes the premiums may initially seem higher. It’s a state where most people drive, especially in cities
like Los Angeles and San Diego, so accidents seem more likely.
And here in California you almost have to get supplemental insurance to cover you in case you get in an accident
with someone who has no insurance. In a state like California where a high percentage of the population is
immigrants, getting hit by an uninsured person is not uncommon.
Luckily, you have many options for obtaining cheap car insurance in the state of California., especially if you
fall below a certain income level. The state has a program called CLCA, which stands for California Low Cost
Automobile Insurance Program. This allows low-income individuals more options for finding affordable auto
insurance.
California is also kind to its residents in that it has a good driver law. If have gone for three years
without getting a traffic ticket or in an accident, and you have lived in California for at least 18 months, you
are automatically entitled to a discount on your auto insurance – and you don’t have to do a thing! If you
are not low-income enough to qualify for CLCA, there are definitely more ways to save on car insurance – but you
have to do some research.
Start hitting the internet and the phone books. Get quotes from various companies and really explain your
situation to them – tell them what you are looking to spend and they will hopefully work out a coverage plan that
is both affordable and meets your needs.
However, please keep in mind that the money you pay towards auto insurance is going to a good cause – if you get
hurt, you don’t want to lose $100K in coverage just because you wanted to save $10 extra a month. Find a plan
that is affordable, but that also doesn’t skimp on the coverage essentials. Getting cheap California car insurance
is tough, but not impossible!
